I discovered that i have the talent when I was in grade 5. During that time animes were a hit with us youngsters. I had this classmate who drew anime characters. I asked her to teach me (or I just tried to copy how she do it, can’t remember..that was a long time ago 😁) Soon, I was doodling and drawing my favorite characters, (ghost fighter, dragon ball z, fushigi yugi, magic knight rayearth to name a few). My mom was in another country that time. She would send us balikbayan boxes. She would give us poster paints and pencils. That’s when I fell in love with drawing.
I’d say that a hiatus had come when I was in my teenage years. You know naman-school, bahay, love life. Nawala yung interes ko sa pagdradrawing. Flash forward to college. Not to brag, but I was an A student then 👏👏👏. One day I realized, baka dumating yung araw na di na ako marunong magdrawing. I was alarmed. That’s one of my identity. If I’m not matalino or maganda, at least I have this talent ‘di ba?. I can feel the interest and the passion coming back. I grabbed a pencil (Mongol #2 😊) and bought a sketch pad and draw. I would say that that’s when I learned my true calling-Arts.
Since then, I didn’t stop creating artworks. I taught myself, watched videos online, read books and study different artists’ style. This page is dedicated to my first medium:Graphite pencils. See how i progressed from using Mongol #2 to
mechanical pencils. ☺😊
(P.S. I’ll add more pictures whenever I have a new pencil drawing )
I hope I could inspire beginners out there. Don’t worry if you don’t have the bests of materials. What’s important is you make art and make the best out of what you have 😊😀
